Senior Financial Analyst
Company Profile

Our client is a publicly traded corporation with annual revenues in excess of $1 billion headquartered in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5 years experience in financial planning (or equivalent) roles with progressive responsibilities and experience preparing financial and economic analysis.

  • Perform economic analyses of proposed programs and investment opportunities.

  • Job function involves determining NPV, ROI, and other financial statistics in addition to performing associated sensitivity analysis of network and business infrastructure investment alternatives.

  • Lead financial modeling and analysis in support for Strategic Planning / Business Development on key initiatives.

  • Must be technologically savvy and have a deep background in Wireless to analyze complex arrangements including network sharing, joint ventures, MVNOs and other potential opportunities.


Background

  • Minimum 5 years experience in financial planning (or equivalent) roles with progressive responsibilities and experience preparing financial and economic analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel modeling techniques and financial analysis tools and methods. Knowledge of financial & other database reporting/query software.

Senior Accountant

Our client is promoting optimal health. The biotechnology company is a specialized laboratory service provider founded in 1997. It analyzes blood and tissue samples in order to diagnose diseases and markets those services to community-based hematologists and oncologists treating malignancies of the blood and bone marrow, as well as other types of cancer. Its key service offerings are COMPASS (short for Comprehensive Assessment) and CHART (newer service offering introduced in 2007).

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for general accounting functions of moderate to high complexity, with emphasis on the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting and support of the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Play a key role in driving the month-end close process to adequately meet deadlines

  • Prepare journal entries, analyze transactions and prepare reconciliations for moderately complex accounts

  • Assist in preparation and review of GAAP financial statements

  • Identify and recommend efficiencies that can be achieved through system enhancements

  • Liaise directly with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audit

  • Research and implement new technical accounting pronouncements

  • Provide ongoing support for financial planning & analysis, tax and risk management activities

  • Other special projects, as required


Requirements

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
5-8 years related experience; public company preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting theory

  • Must be detail-oriented and analytical
